ASTD's TechKnowledge conference is an annual conference.  This year it runs from  28 to 30 January in Las Vegas.

Practical hands-on training

Jonathan's session is a practical hands-on session that teaches you the basics of creating audio podcasts.  It is being repeated twice due to popular interest.

What makes this significant is this is the first time Jonathan has conducted this kind of highly focused practical media training for large public groups.  Most of his work is done privately for large media companies.

Session Summary

Podcasting is more than just plugging a microphone into your computer and broadcasting to the world. To be effective you need to understand the power of audio as a communication medium, its tools, and how to use them. And to create podcasts that truly enable learning, you need to build on a foundation of sound adult learning principles. Phenomenal learning audio is created by combining the knowledge of professional production with the science of learning. During this creation station, the speaker will cover the basic production skills he teaches journalists around the world to help you make a basic but professional audio package. You will leave with the foundation skills to go home and try more sophisticated projects.

Prerequisite Knowledge:

• Familiarity with Windows/basic computer literacy
• Overview knowledge of podcasting and how it can be used for learning
• Knowledge of adult learning principles.
